Privacy

Short version: Cavren is a community, local-first tool. Your resumes stay on your device. We don't run an app server for your content, we don't require accounts, and we don't embed analytics or advertising trackers.

Where your data lives

Resumes are stored in this browser's IndexedDB. Backups you download (.r.json, PDF, DOCX, or an optional passphrase-encrypted pack) are ordinary files on your computer. Encryption for that pack runs only in your browser — Cavren cannot recover the passphrase. Optional version snapshots also stay in IndexedDB on this device.

What we collect

  • No account, no name, no email required to build or export.
  • No analytics, advertising, or session-replay scripts.
  • Hosted fonts ship with the app — we do not load third-party tracking domains.

Optional AI

AI features are off until you configure them. You can use on-device Chrome AI or supply your own API key. When active, prompt text (with direct contact info redacted) is sent directly from your browser to your provider — never through a Cavren server. You can clear your API key anytime in AI settings.

Optional Google Drive backup

If you enable Drive backup, OAuth runs in your browser against Google. The backup file is written to yourDrive. Cavren does not operate a sync server. Tokens stay in this browser.

Exports & offline

PDF and DOCX are generated locally. You can also export Markdown, plain text, or a JSON Resumefile for use in other tools. Once installed as a PWA (or after a visit), the app shell can work offline for editing and export. Network is only needed for optional AI APIs and Drive.
